Blackburn Estate is situated on the east slope of the 3188 m high Mt. Oldeani at an altitude between 1540 and 2010 meters and receives around 870mm of rain annually.

The farm is 1124 acres of which 170 are under coffee. 360 acres produce grass mulch to cover the soil in coffee against drought stress. The Balance is dedicated to serve as environmentally protected areas for wildlife and natural vegetation.

Careful picking ensures that only ripe cherries are processed and pulping water is separated and recycled.

The farm organises donations for the Health and Education sector in Kataru district. Between 2003 and 2005 a dispensary just outside the farm was constructed with the help of the village and a rain water harvesting plant for the village was constructed.
